My dad got it done:
They slit a layer of your eye (it doesnt hurt) and then fix underneath your eye and put the layer back. it does not hurt.

the lasers cut a round section off the 1st layer of your eye they then pick it up and lay it back down so its a better shape thus correcting your sight.
..i think thats the general gist of it.
